INDIAGRO Consortium Producer Company Limited” (INDIAGRO) was founded in December 2018, through coming together of 10 Founding FPOs, in Gujarat to advance the business and policy interests of FPOs in India. With the objective to empower our farmer brothers and sisters through refining their expertise in the global agriculture landscape, a team of enterprising farmers, industry specialists, and energetic young professionals came together to promote India’s agricultural economy for competing in the global market.
Our business principles are based on the vision to revolutionize India’s agriculture with farmers as the central focus and centripetal force. INDIAGRO in the role of a state-level producer company aims to use integrated and market-based strategies to enhance the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers and their family members. It seeks to help them to leverage their collective strength to negotiate better with other stakeholders of the agribusiness value chain. The company envisions to consequentially drive the member farmers’ life journey towards prosperity and dignity in a sustainable manner.
Currently, there are total 17 FPOs associated with INDIAGRO operating across Gujarat. It has its presence in Saurashtra & Kutch region, North and South Gujarat, and also in the Tribal Regions of the state. The company is engaged in procuring various Agri commodities like Onion, Garlic, Groundnut, Mango, Pomegranate, Sugarcane, Cereals, and Pulses. We have also registered a Fishery FPO to strengthen the Fish Value Chain in Gujarat.
